The Porsche 919 Evo Just Obliterated the Nurburgring Record With a 5:19.55 Lap Time Last year, I wrote a story about Stefan Bellof's 6:11.13 Nürburgring lap time set back in 1983 in a Porsche 956. I said it was a record that would remain unchallenged unless Porsche took its 919 LMP1 car to the 'Ring. That's exactly what it's done. Ο κύριος εδώ, θαμώνας του S-397 οδήγησε την F1 2012 του Kimi Raikkonen. A couple of weeks ago I was in the hugely fortunate position to drive Kimi Raikkonen’s 2012 F1 car at Paul Ricard. Here is my experience with a mini video in it, along with the TV report I did for BBC World. Μερικές από τις παρατηρήσεις του : I had three laps - an outlap, a flying lap and an inlap on the shorter 3.8km course. It was the most incredible experience of my life. The experience was very similar. The feel through the wheel was very familiar and how the car handled comparable to here and also AC. But, the experience of the drive in a sim I would say is 10 per cent of the experience because the forces, the vibration and the sheer exhilaration of the moment takes over. What rF2 and the others can replicate in a simulation is absolutely spot on though - even though I could nowhere near push the real car of course. I have a triple 40” sim set up and the view is comparable. The throttle pedal is very easy to push and has about ten centimetres or less of travel. The brake pedal has very little play but requires 100kg of force to properly slow the car ... I only managed a third of that! You can do F1 experiences with older cars but this one I don’t think is widely available. I have Huegensfeld (sp) pedals but they are v different.

Driving the 500-kW (680 PS) I.D. R Pikes Peak, Romain Dumas defeated a field including cars with conventional drivetrain technology. In doing so, he not only broke the previous record for electric vehicles, but also bettered Sébastien Loeb’s all-time record from 2013 – by a full 16 seconds. Dumas’ new record of 7m 57.148s minutes is now top of the list of Pikes Peak champions, which includes such acclaimed drivers as Loeb, Walter Röhrl , Michèle Mouton , Stig Blomqvist, Nobuhiro Tajima and also Rod Millen and his son Rhys.
