RaceRoom Updates

Recommended Posts

RaceRoom has been updated 20-Oct-2015

Due to car physics changes, it is advised to reset Car Setups and Steering Settings to their default values.

Due to the downshift prevention implementation we have cleared all the leaderboards.

Game:
- Added new content that will be released very soon.
- Downshift prevention logic implemented. Sequential gearbox will refuse to downshift if revs are going to end up above the limiter. H-Pattern gearbox will try and engage the gear and fail until revs are lower.
- Tyres of the DTM 2015 cars will pick up Dirt & Gravel when driving off-track, reducing grip on the affected tyres until they’re clean again. Game will play a sound effect of pebbles hitting the car body that will reduce as tyres become clean again.
- Added new things in Shared Memory block. Check our forum for details and link to updated github rep.
- Removed exclusivity of certain Experiences. All content is now accessible and usable in the main R3E.
- Added a new argument “-disableReplay” that can be added in Launch options on steam to disable replay recording.
- Fixed an issue where you start in the wrong car when number of cars is more than the visible cars set in options.
- Fixed an issue with not being able to select each car when number of cars is more than the visible cars set in options.
- Improved random grid position so it’s now really random.
- Implemented a new shadow system that improves performance and visuals.
- Fixed an issue with time left where it was returning the session duration if the session hadn’t started yet.
- Fixed an issue with drivetrain wobbling out of control when in Novice or when TC is 100%
- Fixed so the shifts without clutch in semiautomatic transmissions are damage free.
- Fixed an issue in audio where the coast backfire sound wasn’t stopping in some cases.
- Fixed an issue with cars behaving jerky in novice mode by smoothening the brake and throttle changes when brake assist is applied.
- Fixed an issue with the TV cameras where you could see a couple of seconds of a wrong one.when switching to TV Cam.
- Allowed use of handbrake regardless of track being hillclimb or not
- Various HUD tweaks on areas where text would often not fit the given frame/field.
- Optimized motion blur
- Made changes how frequency and damping are affected by gear ratios, to increase oscillation effect in higher gears
- Removed oscillation from differential distribution on driven wheels, to normalize torque output a bit
- Added an option to load opponent cockpits (Video/Custom Settings)
- Reverted a drivetrain tweak that was done to differential torque
- Fixed an issue where the order on the left hand side of position bar was reversed.
- Fixed an issue where the shortened names were being used despite having enough space for it in the position bar.
- Tweaked G25 & G27 FFB values in default profiles.
- Fixed DRS animation not working after rewinding in replays.
- Fixed game video playback issues that were causing the experience menus to get slow and sluggish after a while.
- Fixed an issue where the players could not resume their lap if they opened the pause menu after session timer reached 0.

Multiplayer
- Added full name, total time, finish status and lap information such as time, position and pit stop status to race result logs.
- Fixed a crash that occurred to everyone in the race if one of the participants had a name longer than 32 characters which was exceeding the buffer and causing issues in replay creation.
- Fixed an issue with players not seeing each other outside of P2P zone.
- Fixed mp dedi front end not loading properly on Internet Explorer.

RaceRoom   update   11th July 2018

A new track is now available! Joining the list of WTCC venues comes Twin-Ring Motegi.

This track, located in Japan, was on the calendar of the final three seasons of the FIA WTCC series: 2015, 2016 and 2017.

This is not all, we're also bringing a complete overhaul of various cars. The biggest change being a big merger between GTR 1 and GTR X car classes. They're now upgraded to our highest physics quality level and closely balanced together.

For those of you who were around in 2012 when RaceRoom was in open beta, you'll remember the Nissan GTR GT1. After all these years sitting in a dark virtual garage, this car has now been unleashed and added to the GTR 1 class as well.

The Pagani Zonda R was also upgraded and now lives in its own single-make cup class with many liveries available.

Another car received some physics upgrades: the Formula RaceRoom Junior. Alex, our physics designer, has treated you with his own version of what this car should handle like, all based on the data and experience collected when he was racing such cars a few years ago.

On the sound side, we're improving as well! Anthony, our sound engineer, has been busy delivering many new reasons for our ears to rejoice! Read about it all in detail below!

RaceRoom Racing Experience: New Update and FR90 Released

Adding 1990's era top level Formula One style cars to the simulation is a good move by Sector3 Studios, and plugs one of the few remaining gaps in content within a title that is doing wonders to cover a wide variety of motorsport both past and present.

The new cars come with three very different and distinct engine configurations - adding the V8, V10 and V12 power units to the generic early 90's Formula One style chassis, and are available in a significant number of livery designs.

New Content

  • Added the Formula RaceRoom 90 V8, V10 and V12 cars.

Game

  • Added a key assignement to Move&Scale HUD elements. Once pressed, the mouse cursor will appear. Left click will drag a HUD element around while a Right click will scale the size of the element up or down.
  • Added a key assignement to reset the HUD elements positions and scale.
  • Updated to Fanatec SDK 3.8
  • Added default profiles for Fanatec Podium DD1 and DD2.
  • Added support for the flag LED's on Fanatec rims
  • Added a key assignment to turn the displays and LED's on rims and wheelbases off.
  • Added Tyre loads to shared memory (using a reserved data holder to preserve backwards compatibility)
  • Added support in physics engine for different shift times depending on the gears being shifted.
  • Fixed an issue where brake disks were pre-heated to optimal temperatures when spawning the vehicle in sessions other than Time-Attack.
  • Fixed an issue where in-game web overlays settings would be lost with every game update.
  • Changed the amount of analog input required to register a key assignment from 50% to 25% of the axis range. (this is relevant when assigning an axis to an on/off toggle control)

Content

  • AMG-Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II 1992 - Sounds improved
  • Porsche 911 Carrera Cup (964) - Tweaked some logos on livery #15

Announcement:
In this update, we had to heavily modify the looks of some fantasy liveries that had Red Bull sponsoring since their original release. The Red Bull brand guidelines now enforce the brand to only be used as replica’s of existing cars and liveries, never on fantasy cars. As some of the liveries were sold, we will be looking into refunding the 29 vRP’s to your in-game wallets in the coming days.

The liveries affected are:

Formula Raceroom 2 #1
Formula Raceroom 2 #2
Formula Raceroom 3 #2
Formula RaceRoom Junior #18
Pagani Zonda R #73
Porsche 911 GT3 Cup #11

A new update for RaceRoom Racing Experience

1.jpg.eb32e49e9c459631587aae3527782a96.jpg

Download size = 4.1 GB
Client version = 0.9.0.935
Client BuildID = 4873057
Dedicated server version = 60.0.1114
Dedicated server BuildID = 4873274

  • Ranked Multiplayer - Added an option to set minimum requirements in rating and safety for a player to be allowed in a ranked session. Added a filter for this to the MP lobby list menu.
  • Dedicated server - Added controls to Export and Import settings (if the host IP changes, the settings are still being lost, but at least you can now recover the settings in a couple clicks by importing a backup)
  • HUD - Moved the huge Disqualification notifications to the "butterHUD™" system (the smaller left side notifications)
  • Controllers - Reduced Minimum force for all Logitech wheels, and added a 10% slip effect
  • Controllers - Added default profile for Simagic wheelbase
  • Controllers - First iteration of support for Simucube - Added communication of in-game selected wheelrange to the simucube driver. Added “safe” default profiles for the 3 variants of Simucube 2 wheelbases. We still have to fix some forces not being stopped upon pressing ESC and sawtooth effects, which we will do together with the hardware manufacturer.
  • Controllers - Updated default FFB profiles for Fanatec CSL and CSR
  • Various improvements to simulating Electric powered cars for player and AI, pitstops, etc.
  • AI - Improvements to their handling of traffic in multiclass racing
  • AI - Improvements to their decision making in going for a defensive line while being followed
  • Fixed a bug where a multiplayer server in a closed qualifying session would still be displayed as “joinable” in the multiplayer list.
  • Fixed a bug where gearshift backfires would not make sounds in replays. Improved logic of the sound triggers in both replays and multiplayer.
  • Fixed a case where AI could be caught not shifting up when it thought it had too low grip on the powered wheels.
  • Fixed a bug where pitstop sounds wouldn't work in replays.
  • Fixed an issue where the ideal raceline would feature oddly positioned brake warnings.
  • Fixed an issue where watching an instant replay that featured a pitstop would result in receiving fresh tyres a second time after coming back to gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue with some in-game web links that would wrongly open in a Steam overlay whenever -webdev startup argument was being used.
  • Tweak to AI's understanding of gravity and forces to improve their behavior on slopes and banked corners.
  • Further tweaks hoping to catch some remaining timing discrepancies when spectating MP races
  • Backed out an older fix for driver names being offset above opponent cars when playing with a low FOV as it had introduced an arguably more annoying intense vibration of the driver names when close to player. Let’s live with an offset for now while we wait for a better fix.

Content updates:

  • Imola - Tweaks to AI’s understanding of what’s a good cornering speed
  • Ningbo - Improvements to framerate. The starting grid for the short layout is now the same as for the other layouts. Improved AI behaviour.
  • Nuerburgring - Improved AI behaviour at turn 1 of VLN / 24H.
  • Road America - Extended track limits a bit on the outside of the Canada Corner so you no longer get a cut with two wheels inside the white line.
  • Salzburgring - Tweaks to AI’s understanding of what’s a good cornering speed
  • Spa-Francorchamps - Tweaks to AI’s understanding of what’s a good cornering speed (Blanchimont)
  • Suzuka - Tweaks to AI’s understanding of what’s a good cornering speed

Known issue

  • Ningbo main layout has a wrong cut detection in the left turn just before pitlane entry. The only way to record a laptime there right now is by keeping left after the apex. Other Ningbo layouts are not affected. We’re still investigating what’s up with this and will fix as soon™ as possible.

Daytona International Speedway
The Daytona International Speedway is a world-famous racing circuit 50 miles north of Orlando, in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. The track was built in 1959 and is most famous for its iconic Daytona 500 race, which is the most prestigious race in NASCAR, and the annual Rolex 24 Hour Endurance race. In addition to NASCAR and IMSA events, the track also hosts races of ARCA, AMA Superbike, SCCA, and Motocross.

The racing track features multiple layouts including the primary 2.5-mile (4.0 km) high-speed tri-oval, a 3.56-mile (5.73 km) sports car course, a 2.95-mile (4.75 km) motorcycle course, and a 1,320-foot (400 m) karting and motorcycle flat-track.

2019 Porsche 911 RSR
Three years ago, the then brand new Porsche 911 RSR initiated the biggest evolution in the history of Porsche’s top GT model. While retaining the typical 911 design, most of the technical elements were re-developed from scratch while being fully compliant with the LM-GTE/ACO class rules.

The 2019 Porsche 911 RSR is the epitome of an endurance-race car. Ready for the FIA World Endurance Championship and the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The car is powered by a Water-cooled six-cylinder 4.2-liter boxer engine, positioned in front of the rear axle. The engine delivers Approx. 378kW (515PS), depending on the restrictor type.
